Summer Meals Information

Summer is fast approaching and a lot of families do not know that there are free, nutritious meals available to their children 18 years old and younger.  Many organizations and local governments across the country serve free meals through the USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) at sites like parks, recreation centers, schools, places of worship, summer camps, libraries and mobile buses in low income communities.  For information on where to find summer meals for your children you can:
Visit https://www.fns.usda.gov/summerfoodrocks.   Families can type in their address and then an online map will show you where the nearest summer meals are in their community.  You can also locate sites in other places, such as if your children are staying with relatives during the summer.
Or Call the National Hunger Hotline at 1-866-3 HUNGRY or 1-877-8HAMBRE (for Spanish-speaking families).  A live operator will tell you where to locate the closest sites.
